Heaven on Earth

Just got back from one of my favorite places!! This place is sometimes busy and I see other dogs there, as well as small animals. Today I saw bunnies!!!! Guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, and birds!!! This place was AWESOME! I really love going there. Momma had to buy my Taste of the Wild kibble and she took me with her to Pet Supermarket!

Oh, the smells! Beef, rawhide, chicken, other dogs, bones, treats, peanut butter galore!!! There were toys as well but when your nose is on overload, who can think about playing?!!! Momma held out a few different bones and treats to me but since I can only have one, I waited for just the right one. It is a beef knuckle bone. Once I made my decision, I couldn't wait to get home to chew it. The only thing that could have made my day even better was if people had said hi to me and let me kiss them.

I was on my best behavior. I didn't pull on the leash, I walked beside her and got right into the car when asked. (I did pretty good before the store but I get a little excited and can't stop myself sometimes). I was in heaven for two hours, just chewing and nibbling on my bone. Momma loves something called chocolate which she won't let me have, but I bet it doesn't taste as good as this!!!

Helping Momma

Sorry I haven't written lately, but Momma was sick and I was taking care of her. I do a really good job of taking care of Momma. When she is resting or napping, I make sure to bark out all that is happening around us to keep her informed. I also bark and chase away all the people, golf carts and trucks that come by. I am sure she appreciates my barking. I also make sure she gets out for fresh air and exercise. During our walks, when she is not feeling well, I make sure to walk longer distances and take longer to do my business so that she is outside longer than normal. I can't cook for Momma but I make sure I let her know when it is time to eat breakfast, lunch, snacks and supper. I am always ready to remind her. Momma watches television or plays on her computer but I don't think that is healthy. I make sure to keep her entertained by bringing toys to play with. Oh Happy Day!

A day with Momma home is always fun but today was extra special. We went to our usual park and there were lots of people for me to say hi and kiss. These people actually came to me and didn't just keep running or walking like they usually did. I got lots of love from strangers today.Snoopy dance has nothing on me  I rolled in the grass so many times and was so happy! People stopped to watch me and laughed. I love to make Momma an others laugh as much as I like barking at other dogs but I didn't back at any of them at the park. They barked at me but I ignored them. I played with a couple of smaller dogs but most were too busy checking things out like I was. Momma also bought a peanut butter shake. I really wanted some so was on my best behavior. I usually have to wait until the end to lick out the cup, bowl or lick the straw but today she did something different. She held out the straw and the ice cream fell into my mouth. NOISE

Next to smells, noises can be the best thing. I have exceptional hearing and know when a truck or golf cart is coming and I am ready to have fun barking and chasing it. But some noises are bad. Like those from a thunderstorm or fireworks. Those scare me. Last night I went out with my Mom to take out the trash and the booms started early - 6:30!! I pulled Mom all the way back home because I was so scared. She kept telling me that it was just noise but I didn't like it one bit. She sat on the floor with me for an hour, cuddling and petting me. I may have played it up a bit to get the lovings for that long, but hey, I deserved it after that scare. Then they did it again this morning at 6:30. We were taking our usual morning walk and someone kept making those loud booms. I barely went to the bathroom and pulled Momma all the way back home from the front of the complex.
