Don't.... stop .......ooooh..... don't stop!

Why do I have to get brushed? My Momma has tried to brush me over the years and I let her do it for a few minutes, then run off.

As I am getting older, I am more tolerant of her cleaning my ears, wiping me down but I still fight or run away when it comes to a bath or getting brushed.

I still hate baths but just recently I became a fan of  "The Brush." Oh my Dog, what a wonderful thing the brush is. It goes through the fur and down to the skin, getting into every scritch and itch I have. Man, I could sit there for hours. Momma has to limit the time she does it for me because her hands begin to go numb after a while.

We have worked out a schedule. When we get back from our morning walk and run at the park, while Momma is boiling her water to make her tea for the day, it is time for brushing! I jump up onto my couch and assume the position. My paws hang over the end of the couch and I watch out the window while Momma begins. Oooooh, it feels so good!!!! She brushes me from head to toe, over and over. She goes harder in the thick parts of my fur and then easier on the thinner parts like my ears and belly. It all feels soooo good.

We do this for 5 to 10 minutes in the morning, sometimes longer if she doesn't have to go to work.
After dinner at night, we play for a little bit and then she will brush me again. If she comes home at lunch and I don't feel like going out, she will brush me again.

I can't believe I used to fight it and run away. The Brush is the best thing in the world.
